Meet Our Team

Five minutes in the same room with Kathy Dixon will demonstrate why she chose exactly the right profession early in her college career. Kathy is a natural empath and combines her love of helping people with a charismatic personality that persuades even the most stubborn to want to come to therapy. Her passion for learning and her gift of teaching combined with her humble nature make her the perfect guide for anyone looking to improve their health and well-being.

Kathy graduated from Thomas Jefferson University with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy and then began her career at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital. She spent time on the Spinal Cord, Musculoskeletal, Amputee, Brain Injury, and Stroke Units, developing a niche for treating clients with neurological and amputee conditions. Kathy places a strong value on continuing education and has attended many educational courses to further her knowledge. She completed the APTA Vestibular Competency at Emory University in 2014.  She also returned to her alma mater, Thomas Jefferson University, to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Kathy also enjoys treating pelvic floor therapy, specializing in prenatal and postpartum recovery. In addition, Kathy performs Dry Needling to address chronic and acute muscle pathology. In order to ensure the successful growth of the physical therapy profession, Kathy regularly lectures in physical therapy doctorate programs and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association Private Practice Section.

Kathy lives in West Chester with her husband, two sons, and dog. She enjoys laughing so hard her stomach hurts, tinkering in her garden and chicken coop, playing harmonica, and continually perfecting her favorite soup recipes.

As a sophomore at Garnet Valley High School, Kristen knew she wanted to be a physical therapist. Whether it was her fascination with how the body moves or her desire to motivate someone to achieve beyond their wildest imagination, physical therapy was the perfect profession to combine science with caring for people.

Kristen began her therapy career at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital after graduating from Ithaca College with her Masters Degree, and subsequently completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Temple University. She quickly developed a passion for treating clients with neurological conditions, prompting her to pursue an advanced certification in Neuro-Developmental Technique, a hands-on technique for the treatment of individuals with hemiplegia. Understanding that the older adult has great potential in improving their health and fitness, Kristen became an American Physical Therapy Association Geriatric Certified Specialist in 2009. Kristen also excels at treating conditions like pelvic floor dysfunction, pre/post natal care, back and shoulder pain, and rehabilitating balance and walking problems. 

In addition to her clinical skills, Kristen loves to lecture in the classroom which allows her to “nerd-out” with doctorate-level physical therapy students.  Kristen is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Private Practice Section, serving as Editor of the national publication Impact Magazine and participating in the mastermind Peer 2 Peer Networking group. She enjoys writing for a variety of publications, as well as conducting public speaking educational programs throughout the community on a variety of health-related topics.

When not wrangling her three incredibly active sons, Kristen enjoys sharing good wine and food, cooking Bon Appetit recipes, and dancing like no one is watching.

Sarah Homan, or as we like to call her, “Homan” is the singing spirit of the Glen Mills office. She joined the Action Potential team in October of 2015 and brings enthusiasm and a passion for the latest research to her practice.  She earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University where her scholastic interests included the vestibular system, orthopedics, and movement analysis.  She completed the APTA Vestibular Competency at Emory University in 2019. Sarah completed her undergraduate degree at Rider University where she played Division I Women’s Basketball. Sarah’s unique ability to combine humor and professionalism makes her treatment sessions both enjoyable and empowering.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, listening to classical music, hiking, baking, and feels that all experiences are improved with singing aloud.

Collaborating with others to reach their goals has always been Nate’s passion. Action Potential has given him nearly limitless opportunities to do so with patients and staff alike since he joined the team in 2017. Tasked with training and managing the administrative staff, it is Nate’s goal to deliver customer care from behind the desk to match the unparalleled therapeutic skill provided by our phenomenal clinical therapists. Before coming to Action Potential, Nate had accumulated a diverse resume that included Aquatics Director, Halloween Store Manager, and even a Manny for Kathy and Kristen.

Outside the clinic, Nate enjoys live music, board games, and getting outside for some birding and paddleboarding.

Casey joined the Action Potential team in 2020 bringing with her a zest for life! She graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 2017 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and loves working with humans across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics with a variety of orthopedic conditions. She is passionate about pelvic floor rehabilitation and helping people better connect with their bodies. And like her desire to cook and experiment with new things in the kitchen, Casey brings variety to her treatment plans, ensuring a customized and enjoyable program for her clients. 

Casey has a strong interest in sustainable living/alternative homes (#yurtlife) and loves to travel and explore new countries and cultures.  She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two sons and dog Yogi Bear!

Alicia hails from the University of the Sciences (in Philadelphia), where she claims she will never be a St. Joe’s hawk after the recent acquisition and merger of schools.  She has spent most of her career in the Philadelphia area, having worked in both the acute care/inpatient hospital and outpatient settings, and served as a neuromuscular lab instructor at her alma mater.  While she loves all things related to physical therapy, she also has a specialty in managing concussion and vestibular conditions, as well as women’s health and pelvic floor.  She also has a strong affinity for adding to her ever-growing shoe collection, telling really bad jokes, and often daydreaming.  But do not be fooled, despite her love for the city of Philadelphia, she is ironically a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Angelica is originally from New York and attended Upstate Medical, where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. After graduating from PT school she moved to the Chester County area to work with all of you! Growing up, she was involved in competitive sports and that’s where her passion for sports PT began. She loves working with a variety of different patients and populations, but her passion is rehabbing athletes. She recently took a runner’s performance course and is super pumped to use her skills to assist you!

In her free time, she likes to cook and bake, and also enjoys art, but her favorite downtime activity is sitting on the couch with her dogs. She also loves to root for her NY sports teams, even if they make her sad.  While in the office, you will find her bringing in fun treats or making a guest appearance with her furry friends (outside of course).

Joe grew up seeing two very different but complementary ways of working with the body, which influenced his path into physical therapy. His father ran a hands-on contracting business, and his mother worked in fitness as an aerobics instructor and gym manager. Between the two, he was exposed early to both practical problem-solving and structured movement.

He was also active in sports growing up, including soccer and volleyball, and remained involved in a variety of fitness and training activities throughout his youth. That experience gave him an early appreciation for how people learn, adapt, and improve through movement and exercise.

Joe explored a few different paths during college, but nothing felt like the right fit until he found physical therapy, eventually earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Neumann University. What stood out to him was the combination of exercise and problem-solving, along with the ability to build real relationships with patients and follow their progress over time.

What he enjoys most about being a physical therapist is seeing meaningful change happen. Helping someone move from pain and limitation back to confident, normal function is what makes the work rewarding, and those moments continue to be what he finds most fulfilling. He values a thoughtful and individualized approach to care and appreciates the one-on-one format at Action Potential, where he can take the time to understand each person and build a plan that fits their needs.

In the clinic, Joe describes himself as steady and attentive, with a balanced approach that allows him to know when to push and when to adjust based on the person in front of him. Patients often describe him as easy to talk to, supportive, and understanding. His goal is for patients to leave their first visit feeling more confident, encouraged, and clear about what comes next.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys staying active through weightlifting, running, and playing pick-up sports. He also enjoys working on home projects and spending time with his wife, daughter, and their two dogs. He’s often the person friends and family turn to when they need support or advice, something that naturally carries over into how he approaches patient care.

Danielle graduated from Neumann University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy after surviving having Kristen and Kathy as her professors. She discovered the positive effects of physical therapy as a patient after a sports injury in high school, and was inspired to enter the PT profession. 

Gaining valuable experience in orthopedic, neurological, and sport specific clinics, she has had exposure to a wide variety of patients, and loves incorporating fitness into her treatment plans. With her energetic personality and motivation to make people feel great, she hopes that patients leave therapy with a smile on their face! She looks forward to working with you to achieve your personal goals.  Danielle enjoys treating young athletes, grumpy old men, and loves sticking needles in brave individuals.

When she is not working, you can find Danielle trying out new recipes, reading a good book, spending time with her friends and family, and making sure she gets in a good hearty laugh at least once a day!

Sean grew up in Chester County with a love of sports. He played football in college for two years where his passion for physical therapy started while rehabilitating following a concussion. He went on to graduate from Widener University in 2021. Sean then moved to Southern California to explore and start his career. He primary worked in orthopedics but had the opportunity to treat a variety of patient populations and conditions. Now that he has returned to the northeast, he is looking to expand his experience in neurological and vestibular therapies, and dry needling.

Outside of the clinic, Sean enjoys spending time with his wife and dog “Z,” sports, and many far-too-expensive hobbies including boating, fishing, and hiking.

Chris is a Northeast Philadelphia native and graduated from Father Judge high school. He attended Widener University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. An accomplished track and field runner in high school and college, Chris knew he wanted to be a physical therapist after rehabilitating various injuries he experienced in his “glory days.”  A physical therapist since 2010, he has experience treating orthopedic injuries at all age levels.  

Chris enjoys running, fitness and spending time outside with his wife and three kids. Chris is a Philly sports fan and enjoys going to the Jersey shore in the summer with his family.

Madison earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University and has always had a passion for movement and wellness. Growing up playing sports and being very active helped shape her energetic, movement-focused approach to physical therapy. She loves combining hands-on techniques with personalized exercise plans to help patients stay active, strong, and doing what they love.

When not working, Madison can usually be found swimming in the Chesapeake Bay, outside playing with her puppy, or baking anything sourdough related.

Maddy earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University.  She was inspired to pursue the profession after battling a shoulder injury due to her years of competitive swimming.  After graduating, she worked in the outpatient and home health setting in NJ before moving to London for two years where she experienced life as a physical therapist abroad.  She enjoys treating a wide variety of patients across multiple settings and is looking forward to expanding her knowledge through continuing education alongside the Action Potential team!  Her favorite part about being a physical therapist is making a meaningful impact on people’s lives. 

In her free time Maddy can be found hanging out with her fiancé, Jackson, and dog, Graham.  She loves running, curling up with a good book and spending time with her family down the shore.

Zach is a native of Lititz PA in Lancaster County which is where his love for the human body and all things movement began. Zach first became interested in injuries and rehabilitation as a young guy witnessing his uncle, a former MLB player, frequently navigating physical rehab due to sport related injuries. The interest grew during his teenage years while playing 3 sports throughout high school, where he became aware of the effect of exercise and weight training on the body, as well as the importance of rehab and recovery in performance. Zach took his interests to Widener University for undergraduate and graduate school, to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. At Widener, his connection to Action Potential began as Kristen Wilson was an all-star adjunct teacher and he was roommates with the up and coming stud PT, Chris Slabek. Since PT school, Zach has had a passion for the foundations of movement and biomechanics that we develop naturally from birth. These patterns of movement, or lack thereof, are often foundational to how Zach treats his patients. He also has special interest in postural organization of the body, breathing mechanics and the neurology/psychology of movement. Zach loves his profession because he has a career revolved around helping people. Creating relationships with his patients is not only integral to the rehabilitative process but also rewarding personally.

When Zach is not treating patients, he spends most of his time with his wife Christina, daughter Emma, and sons: Max, Mason and Miles. They enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors. Zach is also an avid runner, reader, and Philly sports fan.

Olivia’s passion for the profession started young through her own sports-related ankle injury and a coach who happened to be a physical therapist. Those experiences sparked a passion for helping others move, feel, and live better. This led Olivia to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Seton Hall University. 

She enjoys working with all populations; however, she especially loves maximizing and celebrating confidence and independence in the day-to-day lives of older adults. Olivia is very excited to be a part of the Action Potential team and looks forward to continuing to learn, grow, and explore all the profession has to offer. 

Beyond the clinic walls, you can usually find Olivia trying new coffee shops (when she’s not trying out her own latte recipes), spending time with her dogs Kona and Noodle, being active outdoors, or relaxing down at the Delaware beaches.

Carolyn was born and raised in Westfield, New Jersey. Although Carolyn hasn’t lived full time in New Jersey since college, she still loves Bruce Springsteen and enjoys frequent trips to the Jersey Shore, which is her happy place. 

Carolyn graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Arcadia University. She started her career working in the hospital and home health settings, with a sprinking of teaching, before making a PT career pivot to outpatient physical therapy. After giving birth to her oldest daughter in 2022, Carolyn quickly realized the gap in care for pelvic health. She hoped to play a part in filling this gap by studying and reading everything she could to provide the best possible care for this population. She is an active member of the APTA and volunteers with the Academy of Pelvic Health on the Practice & Advocacy Committee. 

Carolyn lives in Lancaster City with her husband, two daughters, and chocolate lab. In her spare time, she enjoys movement of any kind, nerding out on pelvic floor PT research and podcasts, and watching reality TV.

Taylor knew she wanted to be a physical therapist when she witnessed the impact that skilled care could have on her own grandfather when she was only nine years old. She knew that one day, her compassion, drive to help others, and willingness to think outside the box would allow her to change the lives of her patients. Taylor combines traditional physical therapy treatments with the advanced skill of dry needling. She strives to help her patients get their lives back and return to doing what they love, whatever that may be! 

Taylor earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Delaware and is a Delaware native. She was a competitive swimmer for 16 years, and can still be found sharing her love of the sport with young athletes through coaching. She also spends her downtime teaching glassblowing and taking care of her kitten, Jax!
